Dear Students,
The election process for the Foreign Languages Education Department Student Representative for the 2026–2027 Academic Year is beginning.
The student representative represents the students of our department, communicates their concerns, suggestions, and needs to the administration, and takes part in relevant student council activities.
Candidate Eligibility Requirements
Students who wish to apply as candidates must meet the following requirements:
* Be at least a second-year student.
* Not be a member of or hold a position in any political party organization.
* Have no criminal record for offenses involving moral turpitude. A criminal record certificate must be submitted at the time of application.
* Have received no disciplinary penalty other than a warning.
* Not have frozen their registration during the election period.
* Have a minimum GPA of 2.75 out of 4.00 or 70 out of 100.
* Have no affiliation or connection with terrorist organizations.
Application Process
Students who wish to run for student representative must submit their written applications and the required documents to Research Assistant Gamze Kapucu in person 0r via email (gkapucu@aku.edu.tr) no later than Friday, October 16, 2026.
Election Date and Process
The election will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. by secret ballot.
All students enrolled in the department are eligible to vote, and each student is entitled to one vote. The election results will be announced on the department website.
We encourage students who are interested in representing their fellow students and contributing to the department to apply and participate in the election process.
