The Foreign Languages Education Department at Afyon Kocatepe University recently hosted an enriching Open Campus Day, welcoming students from Private Girne High School’s Language Department. This event provided a unique opportunity for high school students to immerse themselves in the vibrant academic environment of our esteemed institution.

The day commenced with an engaging session led by Dr. Uludağ, focusing on listening and pronunciation skills. Through interactive activities and practical exercises, students honed their linguistic abilities under the guidance of an experienced educator.

Following this, students had the privilege of participating in an interactive lecture facilitated by the esteemed lecturer, Nurcay Kuru. This session not only broadened students’ understanding of various language concepts but also encouraged active participation and critical thinking.

As part of the immersive experience, students embarked on a visit to the university library and the Erasmus+ cafe, where they had the opportunity to explore resources and engage in informal discussions with peers and faculty members.

One of the highlights of the day was a special session led by Dr. Nilda Hocaoğlu, in collaboration with the department head, Dr. Güngör. Dr. Hocaoğlu provided valuable insights into the Erasmus+ opportunities available, highlighting the transformative experiences that await students through international exchange programs.

The Open Campus Day served as a testament to our commitment to nurturing young minds and fostering academic excellence. We are delighted to have provided a platform for students to explore their interests, interact with esteemed educators, and discover the myriad opportunities available within the realm of language education.

We extend our gratitude to the students of Girne Private High School for their enthusiastic participation and look forward to welcoming them as part of our academic community in the future.
