Dear Students,
We congratulate you on your achievement in YKS 2021 (Higher Education Institutions Exam). We are thrilled to welcome you to the 2021-2022 academic years. As a new student of our department, you are at the beginning of a long journey in your career. In this journey, our faculty and staff will always be here to help you succeed. We hope you are also excited to start your studies at our university. The academic year will start on Monday, September 27. In the first weeks, we are planning to support you with a line of orientation programs, and your presence is really important for this.
While the preceding years have been a challenge due to the COVID-19, our academic staff are committed to ensuring you the highest standard of learning. We designed 40% percent of courses (Introduction to Education, Sociology of Education, Turkish I, and Principles of Ataturk and History of Revolution I) as online and 60% as face-to-face. Below, we would like to share a few reminders and listings for you:
- Classes will last 40 minutes during face-to-face courses and attendance is compulsory.
- Online course duration will be 50 minutes. For attendance, students either need to attend the online course or complete watching the recording until the next class.
- Exams will be held face to face.

- There is a compulsory preparatory program for ELT students. The students who want to pass the preparatory year need to apply for the proficiency test. The website of the preparatory program is http://ydy.aku.edu.tr
