[:tr]Yabancı Diller Eğitimi Bölümü, 16.01.2001 tarihinde 24289 sayılı Resmi Gazetede yayımlanan kararla kurulan Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi bünyesinde kurulmuştur. Eğitim Fakültesi bünyesinde kurulan Yabancı Diller Eğitimi Bölümü içerisinde İngiliz Dili Eğitimi, Alman Dili Eğitimi ve Fransız Dili Eğitimi Anabilim Dallarının kurulması konusundaki teklif 21/07/2006 tarihli Yükseköğretim Genel Kurul Toplantısında incelenmiş ve 2547 sayılı Kanun’un 2880 sayılı Kanun’la değişik 7/d-2 maddesi uyarınca kabul edilmiştir. Yabancı Diller Eğitimi Bölümünde kadrolu olarak görev yapan 2 doçent 2 doktor öğretim üyesi, 1 öğretim görevlisi ve 1 araştırma görevlisi olmak üzere 6 öğretim elemanı bulunmaktadır. Yabancı Diller Eğitimi Bölümünün eğitim ve öğretim süresi dört yıl olup, zorunlu hazırlık sınıfı (İngilizce) uygulaması bulunmaktadır. Yabancı Diller Eğitimi Bölümüne öğrenci alımına 2021-2022 eğitim öğretim yılında başlanmış olup bölüm ilk mezunlarını 2024-2025 eğitim-öğretim yılında vermiştir.
İlk mezunlarını verdikten sonra yüksek lisans programı açmayı hedefleyen bölümümüzün teklifi üzerine “İngiliz Dili Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı İngiliz Dili Eğitimi (İngilizce) Tezli Yüksek Lisans” programının açılması YÖK tarafından 20.08.2025 tarihli Yürütme Kurulu Kararı ile uygun görülmüştür.

Son Güncelleme: 24.09.2025[:en]Afyon Kocatepe University Foreign Language Education Department was founded in 2006 and started accepting students in 2021. Currently, the department includes the Programme in English Language Teaching. The department has 2 associate professors, 2 assistant professors, 1 lecturer, and 1 research assistant. The department’s goal is to prepare qualified instructors in the field of foreign language instruction. Positions as English language teachers in public and private schools or as academics in the relevant departments of universities are available to graduates of the Department of Foreign Language Education. The Department of Foreign Language Education was founded within the Faculty of Education of Afyon Kocatepe University with the decision published in the Official Gazette Numbered/in 24289 on 16.01.2001. The proposal for the establishment of English Language Teaching, German Language Teaching and French Language Teaching Departments within the Department of Foreign Language Education within the Faculty of Education was examined at the Higher Education General Assembly Meeting dated 21/07/2006, and this proposal was accepted with the amendment of the law No 2547 with the Law No 2880 pursuant to the Article 7/d-2. There are 6 academic staff (2 associate professors, 2 assistant professors, 1 lecturer, and 1 research assistant) working on a permanent basis in the Department of Foreign Language Education. The study duration is four years at the Department of Foreign Language Education, and there is a compulsory preparatory class (English). The student admission to the Department started in the 2021-2022 academic years, and the department had its first graduates in the 2024-2025 academic years.
Upon the proposal of our department, which aims to open a master’s program after producing its first graduates, the opening of the “English Language Education Department English Language Education (English) Thesis-Based Master’s Program” was approved by the Council of Higher Education with the Executive Board Decision dated 20.08.2025.
